Thursday afternoon

At 3:30 Clara began calling the different marinas, without much luck. We returned to the harbor and, even though the office had told us there was no room, we found a spot to dock in the Club Nautico. Rest, showers, champagne and salmon on board before we ventured into Ibiza on foot.

We walked around the street markets and shops for a while, then had dinner in an Italian restaurant in the plaza in front of Dalt Vila. There were jugglers, tight rope walkers, fire eaters, and all sorts of street entertainers. And there were many dogs and children to keep Jibe on his toes protecting our table all during dinner.

After dinner we walked back towards the marina and stopped for ice cream. Now the street entertainment was of a different sort. It was disco hour and different “comparsas” began to appear, luring customers into the various night spots. On our way back we passed a living statue – a woman dressed as a tree, with leaves and bark, and a nest at her feet for donations. Night on the street in Ibiza may be many things, but never dull.
