Saturday afternoon

We were a bit worn out after our visit to Poble Espanyol - a combination of the stairs and the heat. So we enjoyed the rest of the blue route from the air conditioned comfort of the bus. When we passed by the Olympic Marina we had come full circle since the beginning of our trip two weeks ago. We desembarked in Plaza Catalunya and walked back to the hotel.

Time for showers, naps and posting, then out to the street again at about 8:00. We walked along the Rambla, through the Plaza Real - we found the "herboristeria" we visited yesterday, but he was closed for the day. We walked back up the Rambla to a restaurant we had liked when we passed by - Attic. What an excellent choice!! We had a lovely dinner. We shared a carpaccio sampler, with pulpo, mushroom, salmon and ox carpaccios - along with pan de tomate, without which you cannot eat in Barcelona. Then Ralph had an entrecout of veal, and I had the most delicious Tournadó de ternero meloso with creamy mashed potatoes with white truffles. The waiter told us that the veal had been cooking for two days, and I can believe it. It fell apart at the touch of the fork and the flavor was delicious. we finished off by sharing a pecat de xocolat (chocolate sin) with orange sauce (!!) and then walked back to the hotel - taking an extra block or so to help walk off an outstanding meal. The perfect ending to a wonderful vacation.
