Monday afternoon, back to Sant Antoni

In Santa Eulalia we visited a “hippy” market, as they are called, in a plaza and looked in a few shops. Clara made an unsuccessful attempt to purchase a card for her cel phone. Then we left to cross the center of the island back to Sant Antoni.

Passing through St.Rafel de la Creu we spotted a ceramic shop. The first shop we stopped in belonged to Uruguayans. He was working on the wheel and she attended the shop. He had some lovely pieces, but bringing them back to Maracaibo in a duffle –type suitcase is not the best idea. In the second shop we met a local artist married to an Argentinean. There we bought a plate for Nina from San Rafael, Ibiza and several necklaces with large ceramic discs. The “lucky lizard” (gecko) is the symbol of the island and you can find it on everything imaginable from beach towels to luggage tags, including ceramic plates, mugs and tiles.

We continued back to the marina in Sant Antoni and stayed aboard for a dinner of salad and “plato iberico” de cheeses and ham. Showers and hair washing for all while we were still connected to the water in the marina.
